Packin' Up the Studio!

Hi everyone! I am taking a short break to move to our 'new' old 1920's house this month. Hubby and I have been rehabbing it for many months now, and finally this week we will have a functioning bathroom! LOL! While I get my studio set up & running again, please peruse the wonderful Peng Peng Bears available through the fine shops that carry my creations.

Peng Peng Bears has been invited to participate in tinyshop! My limited edition mini 'antiqued' bears "Mr. Yams" and "Tiny Tabitha" will be in the show and available for purchase through tinyshop.

As the world moves bigger, faster and stronger, we occasionally seek comfort in little things. tinyshop celebrates the preciousness of "mini" --- the shortest distance between 2 points, the space of minutiae, and creative endeavors on a small scale.

tinyshop will run from November 17, 2007 through January 6, 2008, at double punch gallery in San Francisco's North Beach district. Special events will be held throughout the shop's lifespan, pondering the tiny theme. Fun-spirited folks and magnifying glasses are most welcome.

Here he is! My first ever BIRD creation... "A. Foolnz", a totally new and original design! (click pics to see him big) His name is an anagram of the famous bear "Alfonzo".. named as such to celebrate Alfonzo's Centenary for Teddy Bears of Witney 2008 catalog. A. Foolnz is a close genetic relative (or mutation) of my *fattie bears (*as sweetly described by Pengy collectors).. AKA my "Buddha Bears".

He is indeed a bit on the heavy side for a winged creature, with a tendency to make a tree branch sag... but we won't hold it against him. Made of thick wavy Schulte hand-dyed mohair, handpainted glass eyes, hand-dyed pink merino felt wool beak, jointed wings, polyfil with encased steel BB's for a nice weight.

Panda Reverso- Weird Wonderful Double Reversible Panda!

Trick or Treat? Here is a special one of a kind, original design- Panda Reverso! 3 day auction on eBay ends Oct 14th Sunday.

This chubby fella measures 6" to tops of ears and about 6" wide. Made of 4 kinds of hand dyed Schulte mohair, 2 sets of handpainted glass eyes, 8 tiny jointed limbs (heads are unjointed), 2 waxed thread noses, "shared" pair of ears, and of course a shared "back"! Filled with polyfil and encased steel BB's for weight. They are like trick or treat, yin and yang, twin spirits, double personalities (or double trouble, LOL!)... 2 bears in one!

Update: China Bear Rescue Charity Auction

~Warmest heartfelt thanks~ to those who placed bids on "Little Fonzo" to help raise funds for the China Bear Rescue Campaign, sponsored by Abracadabra Teddy Bears UK.
"Little Fonzo" auction ended yesterday with a high bid of 295 GBP ($602.75 USD)! *Congrats* to the winner CL, and again thank you to all who participated & for your generosity... together we have helped give the China bears a better life :O)
