firstly, thank you special cat people who adopted PFATT cats for ferals yesterday. they have all found homes and are in the mail today. and thanks for the lovely comments about them too, it means a lot to me!

there is such a positive vibe in the air... last night was a glorious full moon, today is an indian summer, and tomorrow is *my birthday*! so to keep the good vibrations going i've done something a little crazy: all ePatterns in my etsy shop are now just $8 each! it's an incredible deal considering most of my patterns are really jam packed with info. and i've dusted off PABLITA ePattern.. she is back in the shop after semi-retirement! so let's get sewing for the holidays, no excuses! :) sale has ended, thank you!

fall feelin' + etsy treasury

it's a brisk morning and that fall feeling is in the air! it's just right for getting out the cozy mohair and sewing up teddy bears. i've relisted more ePatterns and sock monkey pin sets today in my etsy shop. did you see my new mini business card? i love it- it looks like a stick of gum :) the cooler weather always recharges my creative batteries. once the distractions of summer have gone by i can finally *think*. this fall/ winter i am going to stop procrastinating and learn how to knit. my yarn bin overfloweth but all i've made with it is pom poms! i'd love to make some scarves and big knit hats (topped with a giant pom pom... that i can do), or little bear clothes. speaking of little clothes...

i stopped in my tracks when i saw this window display of tiny mens shirt samples in Rome. how cute are they?? so perfect. one thing's for sure, the Italians know how to dress well. i don't know how the women wear heels on cobblestone streets, but somehow they do!

once again, blu bobo has been featured in a lovely etsy treasury! i think my other patterns may be getting jealous! ;)

i had a busy weekend slaving over a pot o' sock stew (dyeing socks, that is) and had some awesome results! will show ya pics of that tomorrow or so, since i took a lot of pics to sort through.

happy memorial day! can you guess what fun things i have in store for you?

yes, sock monkeys are coming! i pulled out 12+ pair o' vintage red heel socks from my stash today. first i will be washing/ dying/ ageing the socks to prepare them for their magical transformation into crazy monkeys! then the sewing, stuffing, personality-making, and custom outfits that gives them their uniqueness. it's been a long time between sock monkey updates, and i'm very excited (as i hope you are too) to begin the new group. i will post progress pics here so keep checking back :)





in etsy news, our blu bobo ePattern has landed in 2 more treasuries! i think he takes the prize for being my most featured ePattern. and i'm so flattered since it is one of my most classic "peng peng style" bears. give this pattern a try if you haven't already! my ePatterns are available exclusively through yours truly in my etsy shop.

for meat-free monday (8 days a week here :) we grilled up veggie skewers, tofurkey beer brats w/ all the fixins, fresh organic carrot/parsley/celery juice, and oven baked french fries (i make em spicy served with a decadent dollop of vegenaise and katsup). delish and nutrish!

happy march- spring is officially this month! even though chicago is still freezing (until about the first day of summer, lol) there is welcomed sunshine and longer days signaling a change of season. what better time for a spring squirrel ePattern! yes, now you can make nutello -a vintage style 4" mohair squirrel with *wired tail*. ePattern is now available in my etsy shop. i've included helpful pics and tips to assist you. as always, feel free to email me with any questions. here's to warmer spring days!

Pablita in Pink Etsy Treasury

Anyone remember Paburo? He was perhaps the first of my round-headed bears back in 2003 and I just couldn't stop making them. Pablita ePattern is one of those round headed sweeties, so you can make your own! This morning I was so pleased to hear that Pablita is featured in Etsy Treasury "In the Pink" curated by Jillatay - Clay & Magic by Jill Taylor. New Mini Elephant ePattern ~ Kibibi ~

Many of you have asked about an elephant ePattern, and I'm happy to announce that one is finally available! How to make "Kibibi" mini mohair ellie is now in the shop!

This pattern has instructions for string jointed limbs, so it's very beginner friendly. If you already know how to use joint hardware, you can easily go that route using the same pattern.

New Bear ePattern #4 Marshmallow Peanutte!

At long last! I'm so happy to present my fourth ePattern: Marshmallow Peanutte! In this pattern I show you how to make a cute muzzled bear with footpads. The original bear had paper clay sculpted eyes, so I made a substitution in the pattern. The new ePattern is now up in my shop! What a fun project for the weekend!
