since my "puppy love" update last month, i've been busy finishing up special order dachshunds (always have to check the spelling on that :) literally a litter of 'em! the first "leash" i used was a vintage watch chain i had.. the perfect length for a mini dog. thus, i had to figure out a way to make more leashes. luckily i found nice chains at the thrift store, and after thinning out links i made them into sweet rolo chain leashes. the finishing touch is a real leather handle, cut from a swatch from under our Bernhardt leather chair:

three new one-of-a-kind bears have arrived at abracadabra UK shop! a tie-dyed bearded buddha bear "seabert" and his 2 wee bear side kick gals "green tee" and "poppy"... the gals each have a tiny embroidered tooth :)

just a little over a week from now i will be arriving in the UK too. countdown to Hugglets has begun!

new *american stick bear* today!

happy 4th! as promised here is my new bear "pinwheel". she's an *american stick bear* in hand tie dyed red/ blue mohair on gray cotton backing. i just love the way she turned out after trimming, plucking, and ageing... she was just a faceless fluff ball the other day (see previous post). pinwheel is available for immediate adoption on my web site today!

new! mini vintage style tubby pup

there's a new pup on the block! "crackers" is a one-of-a-kind miniature mohair pup, inspired by the vintage character einco tubby dogs. this is my 2nd pup, and i did him in traditional tubby colors of rusty orange and beige. i darkened/aged his face and paws for a time-worn appearance. crackers is just adorable, neutered and ready for a loving home! SOLD

presenting peach pup - new design!

how delish is this little peachy pup?! he's inspired by my long-time fascination with the vintage einco tubby dogs.. which are similar in style to chiltern's early 1900's master teddy. so a round-headed pup is a natural progression.
i've only made one other round-headed einco inspired bear/pup, "kentaro" way back in 2005 for Abracadabra UK shop:

here they are...the wee three's! just posted them this evening on my web site. it's really 2 bears and 1 dog :) i'm loving the way they turned out- so fun. i hope you agree!

*all are 3 3/4" tall, hand dyed/ aged mohair, excelsior/ polyfil in tiny limbs, 5 way jointed, hand painted glass eyes, clothes made from very soft vintage cotton "crazy quilt" feedsack (removable). one of a kinds! SOLD OUT, thank u!

boy stick bear

he's a fella fer sure! something about him just says "country boy". his mohair is indeed "bobo blue" -like the bear in my blu bobo epattern. well, i was soooo close to having him ready today but ran out of daylight to do proper pics. tomorrow he will be up for adoption, wearing cotton overalls and lookin' for love :) sorry to keep you hanging with the sneak peeks!
